On a sparkling December weekend, the doors of the Fairytale Palace opened once again for one of our most beloved traditions: the 2025 Princess Christmas Gala. Now in its fifth magical year, this signature holiday experience welcomed Triad families into a world of music, storytelling, and festive wonder, all wrapped up in this year’s original storyline, “Merry Baking Magic.”
From the moment guests arrived, the Palace buzzed with excitement. Glittering décor, cheerful holiday details, and the sound of familiar melodies set the tone for a day that celebrated imagination, togetherness, and the joy of live performance.
A Sweet Story at the Heart of the Gala
This year’s Gala featured an original, child-friendly stage production led by Mary Gold, owner of the beloved Merry Gold’s Holiday Bake Shop. With her trusty recipe book in hand, Mary Gold invited our audience into a whimsical holiday adventure where baking, friendship, and Christmas spirit blended together to save the season.
Throughout the show, surprise character cameos delighted young viewers as familiar fairytale friends appeared to lend a helping hand (and a little holiday sparkle) along the way. With professional singing, dancing, and storytelling, the performance struck the perfect balance: engaging enough to feel theatrical, yet thoughtfully paced for little ones experiencing live theater.
The short-format show (approximately 30 minutes) was intentionally designed to introduce children to the magic of stage performance in a warm, approachable way, often serving as their very first theatrical experience.
A Cast Full of Holiday Magic
This year’s Gala featured 21 professional character performers, bringing the Palace to life with movement, music, and festive flair. From elegant dancers to playful fairytale favorites, each performer helped create an immersive environment where children didn’t just watch the story they felt part of it.
Following the show, the energy shifted seamlessly into a joyful holiday dance party, giving little guests a chance to wiggle, giggle, and celebrate before transitioning into the final portion of the event.
Supporting Local Theatre & the Arts
At its heart, the Princess Christmas Gala is about more than holiday fun. It’s about supporting local performers, introducing children to the performing arts, and creating meaningful traditions that grow with your family.
Many of our returning guests first attended years ago (some as toddlers) and now return annually with a deeper love for storytelling, music, and live performance. Being part of those memories is one of the greatest honors of what we do.
